About Us

Hello, my name is Steve Carey.  Born in Vermont and relocated to Nebraska when I was 10, I lived in small towns all my life and I was raised on those small-town values, where I was taught respect for others, honesty and making your own way. 

 I began my career in law enforcement in 1981, serving as a jailer, dispatcher and even a police officer before running my own computer business for over 10 years.  With my years of experience and expertise in both law enforcement and computer technology and security, I have a unique skill set that helps me to understand both your environment and your operational needs. 

I served as the FBI Information Security Officer (ISO) for Nebraska State Patrol for 14 years and while conducting the required technical and security audits, I noticed that agencies had neither the time, personnel, or expertise to deal with compliance issues.  They didn't understand the CJIS Security Policy with all of its complexities and really needed someone who could navigate the policies for them and help them achieve and stay in compliance.  That's where I can help your agency.

Our mission is simple:  Function as the security arm of your IT budget and help you comply with the CJIS Security Policy.
